Once the economic impact of innovation is clearly stated, let's get down to which factors determine the innovation capacity of an organization.

PROCESOi, the company I represent is an innovation consultancy firm based in Spain. In order to give this little sexy word some "business sense", we conducted a study along with Prof. N. Ramamoorthy of the University of Houston to analyze which factors determined the innovation capacity of a company. The study was named Innovation X-Ray.

For the purpose of the study, we determined that innovation is about looking ahead, projecting the future, identifying future needs and creating solutions for those needs. By doing so, a company leads the future in its sector, leaving competitors behind. In other words, innovation is about creating the future. Furthermore, we defined the innovation capacity of a firm as the ability of a corporation to observe, plan, analyze, create and lead the future in its sector.
