For confidentiality reasons, the names of the participant companies are not shown. The companies belong to the following sectors: insurance, telecommunications, consumer goods, services and pharmaceutical, among others.

The innovation capacity score is allocated on a scale from 1 to 10; with 10 being the highest innovation capacity achievable.

The objective of this study was to discover which factors determine the innovation capacity within a company and to establish benchmark indicators to be able to compare the innovation capacity of different corporations.

Innovation X-Ray has proved that the innovation capacity of a company depends on its employees' brain preferences, on Human Resources policies; focused (or otherwise) to promote innovative behavior of within the workforce. , This study has also demonstrated that innovation practices inside of the company such as: strategy, structure, client relation, system and steps of organizational learning, among others and critical factors that determine a company's innovation capacity.

In general terms, the companies surveyed have much to do to stimulate and encourage innovation. They obtained an average score of 5.7 points out of a possible maximum of 10. In effect this means that they are close to failing in relation to innovation capacity.

Priorities to boost innovation, in order of statistical correlational importance, are:

Obligation to innovate:

Innovation, as any other business strategy, should have clearly defined objectives and measurement systems. 62% of those who were polled did not know their innovation objectives or the company strategy on innovation. This results in 60% of participants not introducing innovative ideas and 74% that do not change their work strategies.
