PHASE 3 - Product Feasibility

{Can the product be developed technically and cost-effectively to do the job?}

    All of the strategies, definitions, processes, concepts, and claims regarding EG issues are 'set in stone' in the MRD at this point. Changes should only be made through a controlled process that requires agreement by all involved in the development process, as the business plan could be unduly effected.

    When considering various product models, perform an environmental evaluation (via quantities which are measurable or assessable) of the proposed models covering the product's anticipated lifecycle. Base the evaluation on realistic assumptions about normal conditions, use and EG Dictums. This evaluation will allow you to establish a "product ecological profile" based on environmentally relevant product characteristics, uses and processes used during the product's lifecycle.

    Use the evaluation to gauge alternative design solutions and resulting product environmental performance against those measurable quantities.

    When considering the following, you might also ponder subordinate issues such as raw material extraction and transport and primary material processing and transport (depending on your type of product) to ensure as reasonably as you can that materials and components match the level of requirements you intend to impose.
