Inclination/Position -

Some large products must go through a 'Tilt' test according to various regulatory agencies; this is always part of the design/test process for many products. However, some products are not covered by such regulations even though they can be placed into positions where magnetism, wind, gravity, etc. will effect their operation, safety and usability.

Examples of Inclination / Position product failures:
  • Ceiling fans, if not installed vertically, will generate vibrations that can eventually ruin the fan bearings and degrade the ceiling mounts.
  • Some wrist watches and cell phones are vulnerable to large magnetic fields found in some research laboratories and even around large power transformers.
