Some designers select inappropriate technology, because it's "the only thing I know and understand" or "I've used it before", without determining the technology's adequacy for the new product. Make sure that the selected technology has the functionality, performance, reliability, quality, compliance and expandability to handle the product requirements… and that it is cost effective.
