"We're on the leading edge of technology." -or- "We're a leading edge company."

What is the edge they are leading and how do they determine this? Will they fall off the edge? Some do.

So...

The point of this article was not to express cynicism about the successful people and companies in the high tech industry or to push for conservative only approaches to high-tech development. The only intent was to show that achieved success and expected success are accompanied by sound-bytes which can be (and in many cases are) very misleading or simply chest pounding.

If your business must depend on people, products and services that make claims such is these, and you feel that the claims are important to your dependency, then check 'em out! Ask the purveyors to demonstrate that what they claim is not just 'monkey business' chest thumping, but actually what they can do.
