"We design for Manufacturability."

Just about any design can be manufactured. But can it be done on a timely basis and support a profit (assuming the company is a for-profit business)? Most design engineers are typically overconfident of their knowledge of what it takes to manufacture a product, since their manufacturing experience is peripheral and very presumptuous; most have never worked on a production line nor directly supported a manufacturer. Ask them on what they base their claims.

"Our product (or service) is of the highest Quality."

Ask them to define Quality and then tell you how they measure it to validate their claim. More really good dancin' occurs. This deserves five and a-half big chest thumps because most people have no idea what quality is or how to measure it!

"We do things the right way." - or -"We do things right the first time."

Actually, we do things the CEO's way… or the manager's way… or the leader's way… or the way of whoever made the statement. Is there a right way? Is there more than one right way?
