  • Design and Manufacturing Test Requirements & Test Results

These are the test procedures and subsequent test results for each system and subsystem that requires testing (these documents are referenced in the PRS and perhaps the MRD. These documents (1) state the test requirements, (2) contain the validation and verification results for the MRD and the PRS respectively, (3) insure that the Inputs and Outputs are completely defined and documented for the system or component and (4) define exactly when testing is completed (see Product testing? Why? …and How Much? and The Realms of Testing during the life of a product ).

It is very important to rigidly structure this last item and define it so that testing does not become an eternal effort. Examples are:

    • EMC, ESD, safety tests & results
    • Hardware & software tests & results
    • System tests & results
    • Environmental robustness and safety tests
    • Experiment designs & results
    • User and clinical (FDA) trials
    • Market tests & results
    • In-process manufacturing tests
    • Manufacturing acceptance tests
