IDEAS

  • Involved team: Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Corporate level, Distributors, Suppliers
  • Update manufacturing documentation via the change control process.
  • Don't start the next phase until all documents are reviewed and approved.
  • Huge investment loss if the project is stopped at this point.
  • There most likely will be some production process modifications resulting from the PVT, but make modifications only under change control mechanisms.
  • If any final ß-testing and field-testing results indicate design flaws hold them for product upgrades or model changes.
  • Freeze the PHF, thus the product design.

7 - Production Ramp-up

The product design is frozen at this point! Only the most absolutely critical changes, that are agreed to and funded, can cause a re-spin.

This phase is to support the production scale-up to the targeted volume level while monitoring the production process, cost control, quality control and other activities to ensure the business case is met.
